  • I run a not-for-profit cinema listings & information service for people with hearing or sight problems. It exists to create awareness of - and increase audience figures for - subtitled & audio described (narrated soundtrack) cinema releases and shows.

  • I work with the UK film industry, technology companies and charities representing people with hearing or sight problems to ensure that the UK leads the world in 'accessible' cinema. Thanks to our work most popular cinemas now have facilities to screen the latest films with subtitles and audio description for people with hearing or sight problems.
  • Persistence! If something CAN be changed for the better, without too much trouble or cost, then I believe it should be. I got involved in this area of cinema because although there was a possible solution to enable deaf and blind people to enjoy cinema, nobody was bothering to do anything about it. I had to change that.
  • Tip For success:
  • Again – PERSISTENCE! Don’t give up unless you really feel that there is no point in trying. If you believe in your service/product or whatever, and you are realistic in your goals, then give it a go.
